Exhibitions
Holding an exhibition of my work can be an exciting opportunity for your organising group to connect with your wider community in the topics of my artwork. Though my work is usually for sale, the purpose of the exhibitions is conversations around topics people may find difficult. My work illustrates ideas and concepts, and illustrations often help people understand more easily.
Exhibitions are a three-phase process of preparation, setting up and closing down. I have a preparation document to help us think through lots of practical stuff. When we’ve agreed everything, we turn up on opening day with the artwork, information sheets for each one, prints and stand for sales, and artist information. We expect you to have information about your organisation, as you’ll be there for conversations long after we’ve gone. We collect at the end, taking whatever is left away.
Whether I live and store my artwork in a country different from yours, exhibitions are not out of the question and it is always worth having conversations. They can be original paintings anywhere, fine art prints created in your locality with me attending by digital means, or entirely digital, perhaps immersive exhibitions. This time in our global life, many things are excitingly possible.
