I don’t know yet
I don’t know yet
This painting began itself with three characters. As I worked with it, I realized that the two figures on the left are two of the many human identities, male and female sides of the figure on the right. Below the figures are many the metaphors for being frustrated or diminished—stuck in thorns, behind a wall, fenced in, stuck in a cave. The inside selves hold a light, perhaps inspiration from eternity and working inside the barriers. The female identity stretches to the whole figure, sitting, knees to chest, left hand secured by their foot, feeling deeply unsure. Inside self invites them to a deeper wholeness. For so many reasons, any one of us may say, “I simply don’t know yet; give me time.”
